- Understanding of your signing workflow
How to Send Contracts for Signature
Step 1: Finalize Contract Content
Before sending, review your entire contract: all terms, payment schedules, deliverables, and conditions. Ensure everything is accurate and complete.

Tip: Have someone else review important contracts before sending. Fresh eyes catch errors.
Step 2: Add Signature Fields
Place signature fields where parties need to sign. Drag and drop signature boxes onto the contract and assign them to specific signers (client, your company, witnesses).

Step 3: Set Signature Deadline
Choose when the signature request expires. Typical deadlines are 7-14 days. Reminders automatically send as the deadline approaches.

Step 4: Verify Signer Information
Confirm email addresses for all signers are correct. Add or remove signers as needed. Each signer receives their own signing invitation.

Step 5: Customize Signature Request Email
Write a personal message explaining what they're signing and why. Provide context and highlight important terms or sections they should review.
Tip: Clear communication increases signing completion rates. Explain what signing means and what happens next.
Step 6: Send for Signature
Review all settings, then click "Send for Signature". The contract goes to all specified signers with instructions for electronic signing.
Tip: Send during business hours for fastest response. Monday-Thursday morning sends typically get signed faster.

Troubleshooting
Issue: Client didn't receive signature request
Solution: Verify email address is correct and not marked as invalid. Ask client to check spam folder. Resend from the contracts list. Ensure your domain isn't blacklisted.
Issue: Client can't complete signature
Solution: Ensure they're using a supported browser and device. Check that they're clicking the link in their signature request email. Send them the direct signing link from the contract details page.
Issue: Signature request expired
Solution: Extend the deadline or send a new signature request from the contract details page. The contract remains the same; only a fresh signing link is generated.
Issue: Wrong person signed the contract
Solution: If the contract isn't fully executed, void it and resend with correct signer information. If fully executed, consult legal counsel on handling the invalid signature.
Issue: Can't track signature status
Solution: Refresh the contracts page to update status. Ensure notifications are enabled. Check that the signature request actually sent (look for "Sent" status). Contact support if tracking seems broken.
