Add services and pricing
Include detailed line items with descriptions, quantities and rates.
Overview
The services section is the heart of your proposal. Add multiple line items to break down exactly what you're offering and how much it costs.
Adding services
- In Step 2: Items & Details, click Add Service.
- Choose from existing services or create custom items:
From Service Catalog:
- Search and select from your saved services
- Pricing and descriptions auto-populate
- Click Custom to modify details if needed
Custom Services:
- Enter service description manually
- Set your own pricing and details
- Perfect for one-off or specialized work
Service details
Each line item includes:
- Description (Required)
- Clear, benefit-focused title for the service
- Automatically filled if using catalog services
- Quantity (Required)
- Number of units (hours, items, licenses, etc.)
- Must be 1 or greater
- Rate (Required)
- Price per unit in your organization's currency
- Can be $0 for complimentary services
- Tax Rate (Optional)
- Percentage-based tax (0-100%)
- Applied per line item for flexibility
- Details (Optional)
- Additional context or specifications
- Shows below the main description
Managing line items
- Add Multiple Services:
- Click Add Service for each additional item
- No limit on the number of services
- Remove Services:
- Click the trash icon next to any line item
- Confirm deletion to prevent accidents
- Reorder Services:
- Items appear in the order you add them • Delete and re-add to change order
Pricing calculations
Totals update automatically as you add services:
- Subtotal – sum of all (quantity × rate)
- Tax – total tax from all items with tax rates
- Total – subtotal + tax amounts
The Investment section shows these totals prominently in your proposal.
Project timeline
- Define project phases to set client expectations:
- Click Add Project Phase to create timeline entries.
- Fill in for each phase:
- Phase Name – e.g., "Discovery & Planning"
- Duration – e.g., "2-3 weeks"
- Description – what happens in this phase
- Use the trash icon to remove unwanted phases.
Best practices
- Break complex projects into multiple line items
- Use clear, jargon-free descriptions clients will understand
- Include tax rates where legally required
- Add timeline phases to show project flow
- Price competitively but fairly for your expertise
