Duplicate Forms
Duplicating Your Forms
Summary: Save time by duplicating existing forms to create variations for different campaigns, pages, or audiences.
Overview
Duplicating forms is faster than building from scratch, especially when creating variations for different purposes. Copy a well-performing form, adjust fields or styling for a new campaign, and publish quickly. This guide shows you how to duplicate forms effectively and when duplication makes sense.
Prerequisites
- Existing form to duplicate
- Member-level permissions or higher
- Understanding of why you're creating a duplicate
- Plan for how the duplicate will differ
How to Duplicate Forms
Step 1: Navigate to Forms
Go to Business > Forms to view all your existing forms. Identify the form you want to duplicate as your starting point.

Tip: Choose your best-performing form as the template for duplicates to maintain quality.
Step 2: Open Form Actions Menu
Find the three-dot menu icon next to the form name. Click it to reveal available actions including duplicate, delete, and archive options.

Step 3: Click Duplicate
Select "Duplicate" or "Copy Form" from the actions menu. growlio creates an exact copy of the form with all fields, styling, and settings.

Step 4: Name Your Duplicate
The duplicate form opens with a name like "Original Name". Change this to a descriptive name indicating the duplicate's purpose.
Tip: Use clear naming conventions like "[Campaign Name] Form" or "[Page Name] Contact Form".
Step 5: Review Duplicated Fields
Check that all form fields copied correctly. The duplicate includes all fields, validation rules, and configurations from the original.
Step 6: Modify Fields as Needed
Add, remove, or modify fields to differentiate this form for its specific purpose. Keep what works, adjust what doesn't fit the new use case.
Step 7: Update Form Styling
Adjust colors, fonts, or layout if the duplicate is for a different campaign or landing page. Maintain brand consistency while differentiating visually if needed.
Tip: Change button colors or form titles to match specific campaigns or seasonal promotions.
Step 8: Adjust Form Settings
Update settings specific to this duplicate: success message, notification recipients, redirect URL, or webhook destinations.
Step 9: Test the Duplicate
Preview and test the duplicated form to ensure all changes work correctly. Submit a test response to verify everything functions as expected.
Step 10: Publish Duplicate Form
Once satisfied with your changes, publish the duplicated form. Get the embed code or sharing link and deploy it to your target location.

Troubleshooting
Issue: Can't find duplicate option
Solution: Ensure you're looking in the correct actions menu (three-dot icon). Verify you have Member-level permissions or higher. Refresh the page if option doesn't appear. Check if form duplication is available in your plan.
Issue: Duplicate missing some fields
Solution: Verify original form has all expected fields before duplicating. Try duplicating again if initial copy failed. Some dynamic or conditional fields may need reconfiguration after duplication.
Issue: Styling didn't copy to duplicate
Solution: Reapply styling manually if automatic copy failed. Check if custom CSS was used that didn't transfer. Save styling as template for easier reapplication to duplicates.
Issue: Too many duplicate forms cluttering list
Solution: Delete or archive test duplicates you no longer need. Use clear naming to identify active forms. Consider organizing forms with tags or folders. Export important form data before deleting.
Issue: Duplicate has wrong settings
Solution: Review all settings in the duplicate form editor. Update notification emails, redirect URLs, and other settings specific to the new form's purpose. Test thoroughly before publishing.
